UAE Job Offer Checklist

A UAE job offer should be reviewed as a written package, not as a single salary number on WhatsApp or email.

Independent informational website. Independent website, not a UAE government service. Use the calculators to prepare questions, then verify important salary or settlement figures with your contract, employer, MOHRE, free zone, payroll team, or a qualified adviser.

Before you accept the offer

Ask for the salary split in writing: basic salary, housing, transport, other allowances, deductions, payment date, probation, notice period, annual leave, visa support, and insurance. Save the offer letter and any email confirming a benefit.

Questions that prevent problems later

Who pays visa costs? Are dependants covered by medical insurance? Is housing paid monthly or separately? Is commission written and measurable? Does notice period change during probation? These questions are easier before signing than after resigning from another job.

Common red flags

Be careful with verbal-only benefits, unclear work location, changing job title, unexplained deductions, low basic salary with large vague allowances, and bonus promises with no written policy.

Use the calculators before negotiating

If you are comparing two offers, run both through the UAE salary calculator. If long-term settlement matters, also read basic salary vs gross salary.

Frequently asked questions

What should I ask HR before accepting a UAE offer?

Ask for the salary split, benefits, deductions, probation, notice period, and insurance in writing.

Is a verbal promise enough?

For important benefits, no. Ask for the benefit in the offer letter, contract, or policy document.

Should I check gratuity before signing?

Yes, especially if the basic salary is low compared with the gross package.
